Shillong, July 23: Mr. J. P.Nadda, National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, met with State Office Bearers, Morcha Heads, Districts’ Incharge and District Presidents of BJP Meghalaya through an online meetingon 23rd July, 2020.
State President Mr Ernest Mawrie, expressed his gratitude to Mr J P Nadda for meeting with the party functionaries. He also informed Nadda about the Covid related work done by the party in the state. Mr. Mawrie informed that the state BJP had distributed 44687 packets of food, 1,10,800 face masks and 18,300 bottles of sanitizers to needy people.
Mr Mawrie also highlighted his concerns about the closure of the tourism sector due to the lockdown in our state to the National President and those present in the meeting. He sought Central intervention to kick-start the sector.
Mr. J P Naddaji appreciated the state team for reaching out to the public to assist them during the lockdown. He also lauded the efforts of the party to connect with the people through a ‘samparkabhiyan’ and inform them about the benefits of the Atmanirbhar Bharat package announced by the Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi.
Mr.Nadda BJP National President expressed his gratitude to the people who have come to regard the free ration being distributed by the Central government as ‘Modi Rice’ or ‘KhawModi’ in the state.
The National President of the BJP Mr Nadda, also highlighted how during the lockdown, no other political party left the comforts of their AC rooms other that BJP. Only the BJP went to the people to help them with their problems.
Mr Ram Madhav, National General Secretary of the BJP, who was also present in the online meeting, stressed on the need to strengthen the organisation in the state so as to better serve the people. He said that a political party is supposed to work on the ground among the people.
