Shillong, Nov 21: The Office of International Affairs (OIA), NEHU in collaboration with Seher-India cultural group under the aegis of The Ministry of External affairs of Govt. Of India is holding ASEAN Music festival at NEHU Campus on 22nd November, 2022. The event will be held at Convocation Hall of NEHU starting at 4PM on 22nd November, 2022.
Three ASEAN nations represented by three reputed bands from Indonesia, Singapore and Myanmar are going to perform and showcase their genre of music, which mostly is rock and fusion music together. The three bands, namely, MRTV modern music band (Myanmar), Riau Rhythm (Indonesia), Linying Band (Singapore) are visiting NEHU Shillong for the festival.
This is a unique initiative in the Golden Jubilee Year of NEHU by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. P. S. Shukla. After joining NEHU, Prof. P.S.Shukla initiated a whole series of international cultural exchanges with BIMSTEC and ASEAN nations so that NEHU can build a significant name in Asia and beyond.
The festival is happening for the first time in Shillong and NEHU and it has generated substantial response from among the music lovers of Shillong. As an icing on the cake, Colours Band from Shillong shall also perform to enthuse the audience with their mellifluous tune.
The OIA-NEHU is open to participation by all music lovers in this gala rock festival. Passes have been arranged for general public.
