Shillong November 29:The Central Media Units of Meghalaya such as the PIB, DAVP, DFP, AIR, DDK and S& DD will organize the Public Information Campaign (PIC) on Bharat Nirman Programmes of the Govt. of India such as the MGNREGA, NRHM, SSA, MMP and RTI at Madan Iawmusiang Field, Jowai, W. Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya on December 5,6 & 7, 2012 daily from 10.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.
The Campaign is in collaboration with the District administration to make the rural people aware of the Central schemes being implemented for their welfare. The campaign will feature programme like seminars, interactive sessions and exhibitions by govt. departments and cultural programmes.
The campaign will be inaugurated by Dr. R.C. Laloo, Minister for Revenue & Disaster Management, Education, Food & Civil Supplies, Soil & Water Conservation, Home (Jail), Govt. of Meghalaya on December 5 at 11.00 a.m. as the Chief Guest.
The Inter-Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) meeting was held at the office of the Dte. of Field Publicity, Govt. of India here today, chaired by Dr. Engam Pamei, Director DFP, (MMT) Region and Chairman, IMPCC, Meghalaya Chapter. It was attended by the officials of the Central Media Units like PIB, DFP, AIR, DDK and DIPR to discuss about the publicity programmes carried out during the month of November 2012.
The programmes carried out by the difference media units were on health & family welfare, IAY, women’s programmes, Children’s Rights, Programmes on folklore, youth programme, National Integration Week, Communal Harmony, National Press Day, flagship programmes and programmes on agriculture, etc. The theme on “Human Rights” was selected for the month of December 2012.(SP News)
