Shillong,March 05: In view of the Election Commission’s notification of general elections to the Lok Sabha, 2014 in Meghalaya, the District Magistrate and District Election Officer, South West Garo Hills, Mr. Ram Singh, has issued a prohibitory order under Section 144 CrPC for conduct of free and fair elections, with immediate effect.
As such, the order prohibits violation of Model Code of Conduct, giving and receiving of bribes, carrying of arms and defacement of public property during the entire poll process in the district.(SP News)
