There are 62 swimmer participate in the 12th Meghalaya swimming competition

Shillong, September 18: The 12th Meghalaya open swimming competition was held at the UCC swimming pool, in Ri Bhoi District. There are 62 participants who take part in this competition both men, women and young boys and girls.

In the men category there are 36, in women category 8, in boy’s category 12 and in girl’s category 6. The participants who participate in this competition are coming from Assam, Meghalaya and the Assam Regimental Center.

In the men event category the winner are, in the breast stroke 30 meter, the winner is Mr L Dhanjit Singh of the ARC, second position goes to Mr Joe Dunai from Shillong and third goes to Mr Nathaniel Kharnaior shillong. In the back stroke 30 meter the winner are, Nalu Jamaitia ARC, Risong Ryngksai second from Dawki and third Sefrin Lyngdoh from Shella. In the free style 30 meter, the winner are, Mr Manu Debarman Happy Vally, second Rishash Barkototy third Risong Ryngksai of Dawki.

In the 120 meter free style the winner are, Mr Mammir Ahamed, second Arjeet Buruah both from Happy valley and third Overjay Myrthong from Shella, in the 120 meter breast stroke the winner are,  Mr Suntosh Jockchom ARC, second Joe Dunnai Shillong and third Arosstarwell Kharsyntiew Shillong. In the 60 meter Brest stroke, the winner are Sagar Sharma ARC, second Mr Nathaniel Kharnaior shillong and third Joe Dunnai from Shillong.

In the women category, in the 30 meter back stroke the winner are, Mugdha Bordaloi, second Siddhi Kabra both from Assam, third Glareenda Wahlang from Shillong, in the 30 meter breast stroke the winner are, Mayumi OA Nongrum Assam Valley, second Medaaihun Kharpuri Shillong and third Siddhi Kabra from Assam Valley. In the 60 meter free style the winner are, Mayumi OA Nongrum Assam Valley, second Rhea Borkatoky and third Mugdha Bordaloi.

In the Boys category, in the 30 meter butterfly event the winner are, Rapbhalang Marbaniang, Nammir Ahamed second and third Maldin Ryngksai, in the Breast stroke 30 meter, the winner are, Garrick Wahengbam, second Gumseng K Sangma, third Kyrpanglang Phanbuh. In the free style 30 meter, the winner are Nammir Ahamed, second Rapbhalang Marbaniang, third Aditya B. Thekadath. And in breast stroke 30 metter the winner are, Garrick Wahengbam, second Shankupar Ora, third Maldini Ryngksai.

The best swimmer from the women goes to Mayumi OA Nongrum, and the swimmer for men goes to L Dhanjit Singh and the promising player boys goes to Garrick Wahengbam. The Chief guest of the function is Mr Fredrick Roy Kharkongor  commissioner and secretary department of  sport and the guest of honour is Dr S R Lyndem the principal of the UCC College the competition was organised by the Meghalaya Swimming Association.
