Three people die in the flood in West Garo Hills, Thousand render homeless

Tura, July 30: In the lashed flood that has swept the plain belt area of Garo Hills three people lost their lives and thousands of people render homeless.

Speaking to SP News Agency the Speaker of Meghalaya legislative Assembly Mr AT Mandal , whose constituency is bad affected by this flood said that the water level as today has sinking down and he hope that it will improve in this days to come it the rain stop in the upper Assam since this is the over flow from the mighty Bramaputra River.

In this flood the sad incident that happen that tree people lost their lives, two were minor, the boy who is of 14 years of age, and girl which is nine years and women is of 19 years. The women of 19 years she is trying to served her brother but she was drown.

About the relief material that was provided to the people who are in the relief camp, he said that government is providing them food drinking water and medicine. On the issue of not getting proper supply is just I misunderstandings only due to the pending bill that was yet to be paid.

The rest of the villages that were affected by the flood were asked to form the committee to take charge in distributing the essential commodities to the villagers, list of the committee are submitted for this purpose.
