To bring Mr Roningson to Meghalaya depending upon the clearance from the hospital

Shillong, May 31: Meghalaya Police inform that, pertaining to the tidings about Mr  Roningson Khartangmaw a Battalion Constable posted at Delhi, it is hereby clarified that the official reported sick on the 22nd May 2020, and he was attended by the Unit Doctor of the Battalion on the same day, after which he was kept under isolation in Wazirabad.

However, since his health was not improving, he was referred to LNJP Hospital, New Delhi on the 23rd May 2020, and the Medical Officials after checking upon his health condition placed him under mandatory quarantine in the hospital.

Further, it is also stated that as the Police Official is under quarantine in the hospital, attendants could not be provided to him as the current protocols prohibits having attendants in the quarantine units.

Furthermore, the Unit Doctor of the Battalion is constantly in contact with the Medical Officials of the hospital, who are treating the official of the department, and as of today, the official is convalescing. Further test will be conducted to ascertain whether the official will be fit to be discharged in the coming days.

The Commandant and Company Commanders of the Battalion are also in contact with the official, since the day he was admitted at the hospital and essential assistances are rendered to the official as per the permitted protocol.

As a preventive measure Battalion Officials who came into direct contact with the patient are also placed under isolation and necessary medical assistance have been assisted to these officials.

Meghalaya Police is closely monitoring and coordinating with the officials of the department at Delhi, and his return to Meghalaya will be depending upon the clearance from the authorities of the hospital, which is as per the established protocols, said Mr G K Iangrai Assitant Inspector General of Police (A) Meghalaya.
