To promote martial art MJA will collaborate with Shri Teiborlang

Shillong, March 22: Meghalaya Judo Association (MJA) and Shri Teiborlang Pathaw Commandant of North Eastern Security Academy (NESA), Mawlai Mawkynroh near NEHU Campus will work together for promoting and popularizing judo amongst the private security forces who will be trained in NESA very soon on a ratational basis.

Recently NESA have been allotted and sponsored by the government to train  about 300 youth of the state on professional security jobs. This in turn will really boost the morale of MJA so that in turn senior team will be able to represent the state in full which is quite difficult now as some of the junior levels on one way or others will not able to continue or go ahead for senior due to preoccupation in the higher studies or being employed somewhere else in a situations where it is difficult for them to take part in the National Championships.

But most of the security trainees in NESA are above 18 years of age and this will add up to their skill in protection and self defense as Judo (jū’;dō) is a Sport of Japanese origin that makes use of the principles of jujitsu, a weaponless system of self-defense. Jujitsu, the unmodified form of judo, has been taught to military and police forces.

From NESA, it will really be helpful for MJA to identity some youth to take part as senior judokas. It is quite interesting to note here that the computer classes will be fully operational soon and its under process to start in NESA, the same will extended to newspapers hawkers and any of their families members as well as Meghalaya judokas who wish to attend such computer classes.

It is also to inform that any newspapers hawkers who want to join Free Computer Class in NESA to kindly forward their through Meghalaya Newspaper Hawker & Vendor Association.(SP News)
