Shillong, Oct 20: The Meghalaya Sport Climbing and Mountaineering Association (MeSCMA) is proud to mentioned that two Members were nominated by the Association to attend the Advance Mountaineering Course at Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI), Darjeeling. This training course is commencing from 19th October to 15th November 2022 sponsored by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt of Meghalaya.
These two members completed their Basic Mountaineering Course from National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NIMAS) in March 2022 by securing Grading “A” the highest grades in mountaineering courses and was recommended for this Advance training that required to be physically and mentally fit and have a positive and adventurous attitude to become a Mountaineer.
The two members of Meghalaya Sport Climbing and Mountaineering Association who were selected for the training for a month are Miss Valarie Suchiang from Shangpung, West Jaintia Hills and Mr. Rilang Dkhar from Umshaken, Ri-Bhoi District.
