Women BLOs spearhead SIR voter awareness campaign in SWGH District

Ampati, July 3: Women Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are leading voter awareness efforts under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls across South West Garo Hills, particularly in rural areas where women play a crucial role in the electoral process.

As part of the campaign, Women BLOs are conducting awareness meetings in villages to educate voters about the objectives and procedures of the SIR exercise, while encouraging eligible citizens to verify and update their electoral details.

The outreach programme is aimed at ensuring that every eligible voter is aware of the revision process and actively participates in maintaining an accurate and inclusive electoral roll.

Officials said the dedication, professionalism, and community-oriented approach of the Women BLOs have helped build confidence among voters and improve public understanding of the electoral process.

Their efforts are not only empowering citizens with electoral awareness but are also strengthening grassroots participation in democratic processes.

The district administration has appreciated the commitment of the Women BLOs and reaffirmed its resolve to ensure maximum voter awareness and participation during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision exercise across the district.
