Shillong, March 12: The District Magistrate and District Election Officer, West Garo Hills, Pravin Bakshi, today held a workshop on expenditure monitoring, Model Code of Conduct and fixation of rate chart with political representatives and agents at Tura DRDA Hall.
During the meeting Bakshi apprised them about the schedule of election, application of Model Code of Conduct and particularly the election expenditures of the intending candidates.
Briefing the members of different political parties about the election arrangements in the district he informed that Systematic Voters’; Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programs would continue in the district even during the electoral process to ensure greater participation of voters.
A power-point presentation highlighting the salient features of the Model Code, election expenditure monitoring mechanism, video flying squads to track illegal cash transactions amongst others were also shown during the course of the meeting. the members of political parties, the meeting was attended by EROs and other officials of the district.(SP News)
