4-day workshop on enhanching teachers’ effectivemess concludes today

Ampati, August 4: The four day workshop on enhancing teacher’s effectiveness held for secondary and higher secondary school teachers concluded on 4 August at Ampati. The workshop, organized under Chief Minister’s Career Guidance & Counseling Scheme, is the first of its kind being rolled out by Shillong-based Group Avenues, a brand synonymous with youth empowerment and human resource development in North East India and recognized as the region’s leading grooming and communication skills training initiative.
Raj Kharnih, Lead, Business Development, Jasmine Laitflang Stone, Preeti Chhetri and Eurisa Khyriem (TPPM) from Avenues conducted training in three steps based on the modules prepared to suit the
teachers of the district during the four-day workshop. These included pre-assessment of the teachers which was conducted on the first day, communication (first impression, body language, emotional intelligence and assertiveness),  guidance & counseling, sharing of best practices through case studies, power stance drills, group discussions; understanding their pain points, lessons learnt and sharing experiences and finding solutions through team spirit and presentation skills and motivation.
During the valedictory function South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Cyril V D Diengdoh urged upon the teaching fraternity to take their new found skills and inculcate in the students positive values.  He thanked Group Avenues for stepping forward to train the teachers on effective teaching. The Deputy Commissioner later handed out certificates to participating teachers, The teaching fraternity of South West Garo Hills also expressed their gratefulness to the district administration for organizing the workshop to equip them with necessary skills and enhance their teaching capabilities.
