Shillong, March 05:The alert Border Security Force troops yet again foil the smuggling bid at border. The BSF troops deployed at Umsiyam in East Khasi Hills Distt of Meghalaya seized 3,072 Nos Good Night Active Mosquito killer Machine worth approx Rs. 2.6 Lacs while being smuggled out to Bangladesh.
The Border Security Force Intelligence team on a tip off launched a raid operation after a suspicious movement near international border, while party challenged and rushed towards the spot smuggler manage to escape due to darkness and thick vegetation. After the search of the area the huge consignment of these mosquito repellent was recovered which was packed in many cartons.
The quantity was brought near the Zero Line in a vehicle with intention of smuggling to Bangladesh. As soon as the smugglers started to smuggle it to Bangladesh with the help of carriers, BSF troops launched the raid foiled their attempt. It is to mention that these items fetch two fold price there after being smuggled in Bangladesh. But the determined BSF troops are keeping a regular vigil to foil any such attempt and has succeeded to make several seizures. The troops of Border Security Force have been putting their valiant efforts to seize these huge consignments.
