Shillong, September 24: Mr Nikma CH Marak Chairman of the Garo Hills State Movement (GHSM) and Mr Balkarin CH Marak Co-Chairman in the memorandum to the power minister said that the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) should replace of five damage transformers with the new one in the five villages in South Garo Hills District.
The villages include Mindigre, Matcha, Nokpante, Brugittim and Masighat, these transformers wad damaged more than one month, and all this villages are remain in darkness. This will affect the student’s community, whose examination is round the corner.
The Chairman of the GHSMC urged upon the power minister to consider their demands to ease the problems of the people of South Goro Hills District who were remaining in darkness due to the damage of these five transformer in South Garo Hills.
