Shillong, May 08:The temporary Office building of the SDO (Civil), Mawshynrut Civil-Sub-Division was formally inaugurated today by the local MLA and Chairman of Meghalaya State Housing Board, Shri Gigur Myrthong in presence of the local MDC Shri. M. Mawsor, I/c SDO (Civil) Shri. K. L. Nongbri at Banglapluh.
Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, Shri Gigur Myrthong stressed on the need to develop the Sub-Division which is still backward in comparison with the other parts of the State. He urged upon the Sordars and Headmen to co-operate with the Sub-Divisional Administration in order to ensure that the all round development is brought to the Sub-Division. He assured the gathering that he will pursue with the Government on matters which need immediate attention and for setting up a full-fledge Sub-Division wherein all Government Departments are in place.
Shri K. L. Nongbri in his keynote address thanked the Government for granting approval to the District Administration to set up the office in a temporary building. He also expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner West Khasi Hills for his support in the various initiatives proposed by the office. He also informed the public that the online application for Scheduled Tribe Certificate will be made operational with effect from June, 2018.
