Shillong, Nov 25: The Deputy General Manager Mr K Mohan who is looking after retail sale of the Indian Oil Corporation Limted today announced that a total of 233 new petrol pumps will come up in the state of Meghalaya, 199 will be in the National High Way and 34 will be in the rural area.
Speaking to the media today said that, the three oil company of the union government has come to this calculation after taking the survey in the last six months. According to the survey Meghalaya need 360 retail outlets of petrol pumps but after shortlisted it has come down to 233.
The Deputy General manger that is looking after retail sale said that, people who are interested in running petrol pump they can put their application from today by login to the website www.petrolpumpdealerchayan.in for detail information.
Mr Mohan also inform that the allocation of petrol pump this time to dealer will be done by computerised “Draw of Lots”/Bid Opening” this will be the first time that will be selecting dealerships, this was done to bring transparency in allotting petrol pump to dealer.
Mr Mohan claims that, additional expansion of retail outlet of petrol pumps will also generate more employment. Each petrol pump will employ minimum six people. The 233 new retail sale petrol pump has been dived any the three union government public sector undertaking.
The Indian Oil Corporation Ltd will have 87 new petrol pumps, 74 will be in the NH and 13 in the rural, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd will have 113 petrol pumps 96 in NH and 17 in rural area, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd will have 33 new petrol pumps, 29 in the HN and 4 in the rural area.
Others officer who were present are, Mr Ashim Paul Chowdhury, manager retail sale of the IOC and Mr Aloke Marandi Assistant manager retail sale of the IOC. Both of them also address the media.
