Shillong, August 14: The work shop was held at NEIGRIHMS. Faculty expert from JIPMER, Puducherry, Dr. Gladwin.V along with faculties from NEIGRIHMS were the resource persons. Aim of the workshop was to train the participants to do systematic literature search in PubMed and also how to manage the references that include citation and inserting bibliography using the Zotero software.
Systematic literature search in PubMed and Managing References was discussed in the workshop. Around 100 participants from different parts of India participated in the workshop. Speaking on the occasion, Director, NEIGRIHMS, Dr.( Prof.) D. M. Thappa, deliberated upon the positive impact of the workshop and the importance of using Zotero software in Search and Reference Management. Participants were given online training with technical support from Telemedicine Unit of NEIGRIHMS.
A condolence meeting in the memory of Late Mr. Bireshwar Kalita was organized in the OPD Foyer. More than thousand people including Faculty, Resident, Nursing Staff, Support Staff and ministerial staff of NEIGRIHMS participated in the condolence meeting to pay homage to the late Mr. B. Kalita born on 3rd March, 1971 who expired on 2nd August, 2017.
Late. Shri. B. Kalita joined NEIGRIHMS on 11.9.1998 and was a dedicated, honest, highly professional supervisory technician of NEIGRIHMS. Medical Superintendent in the condolence meeting called the demise of the supervisor technician as a great loss to the Institute. Two minutes silence was observed followed by prayers for eternal peace to the departed soul.
The College of Nursing, NEIGRIHMS, Shillong, organised a National Conference on the theme, “Knowing Research Basics: The Path towards Quality Education, Administration and Practice. under the Patronship of Prof (Dr.) D.M Thappa, Director, NEIGRIHMS and Chief Patron Ms. C.E. Myrthong, Principal, College of Nursing, NEIGRIHMS.
The total number of delegates registered was three hundred from ten different states of India representing twenty institutions. Shri. Y Tsering, Chief Secretary, Govt. of Meghalaya was the Chief Guest and Dr. K Reddemma, Nodal Officer INC Consortium was Guest of Honour on the inaugural function. Prof. (Dr.) D.M. Thappa, Director, NEIGRIHMS spoke on the topic “Ethical Issues in Research.” The session was followed with Open discussion and feedback on the conference, wherein delegates enthusiastically took part in questioning about various sessions Miss Manju Gill, presented the secretariat report of the national conference, followed by distribution of certificates for oral scientific paper presentation.
