People of 53-Ampati Constituency tomorrow will cast their vote to elect their new MLA

Shillong, May 27: The people of 53-Ampati Constituency tomorrow will go to vote to elect their new MLA in place of Dr Mukul Sangma who has opted to retain Sangsak after winning two seats in the Last general election to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.

The by- election in the 53-Ampati Constituency is the fight for supremacy between the former Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma and the present Chief Minister Mr Conrad K Sangma in the Garo Hills Region.

Though in this election there is a triangular contest, Smti Miani D Shira from the Congress the daughter of the former Chief Minister Dr Mukul who has won the election for the fifth time from 53-Ampati Constituency but chose to retain Songsak.

The NPP Candidate Mr Clement G Momin, who has contested twice from 53-Ampati Constituency against veteran congress leader Dr Mukul Sangma unsuccessfully, in this by-election the NPP put up to contest against the former chief minister daughter.

The Independent Candidate Mr Subhankar Coach also contested in this by-election from 53-Ampati Constituency, but the real contender in this election is the Congress nominee and the NPP nominee. The people of 53-Ampati constituency tomorrow will   cast their vote to decide who will be their successor to Dr Mukul Sangma as their MLA.

The 53-Ampati Constituency has 39 polling stations, with the total voters of 28545 people, where male voters are 14179 and female voters are 14366. The fade of the three candidate will be decided by the people tomorrow who will be their successor to Dr Mukul Sangma as their new MLA.
