Shillong, May 16: The Police said that,It is observed that a lot of telephonic call both from mobile number and landline are being received by general public from fraudsters impersonating as bank representative insurance representative and so on seek details of bank accounts, ATM Debits cards number, cvv numbers and date of expiry, and even one times pas words, otp received in their mobile phone Aadhaar cards detail etc for activating their ATM,Debit Card, there bu duping innocent people of their hard earn money.
General public hereby advice not to provide internet banking password, ATN or phone pin to any or answer unrecognized mail or call inquiring for bank account detail for any cause they mention. Na bank or credit card firm personal is authorizes to asked the cardholders for his card detail, while transacting on website to avoid keystroke logging use virtual keyboard and while using an ATM in off line mood do cover they key with your hand.
In case of any fraudsters activity, general public are requested to approached the nearest police station, police beat house, police outpost of cyber assistance cell, CID Meghalaya Shillong, the contact detail of the cyber are 0364-2504001 and the mobile number 9402519391 and the email id is cew-meg@gov.in.
