Shillong, June 08: The Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya Mr Prestone Tynsong today inform that stranded citizens who are returning to the state on or after the 11th June 2020 they have to pay for their transportation fare from Guwahati to their destination.
The Deputy Chief Minister talking to media at Yojana Bhavan today said that the last date put by the government is on 10th June 2020 all thus who are returning to the state on or before that date government will provide them free transportation but thus who are coming on or after 11th June 2020 they have to pay the transportation cost.
Deputy Chief Minister said that all the standard operating procedure remain the same, the transport department will arrange the vehicles for them, either to Garo Hills or Khasi Hills region, once they come first they will be taken to institutional quarantine centre for RTCPR test.
The Government has taken this decision because when they were asked to register only 10288 peoples register with the government, but now 13990 people are retuning back to the state there are more yet to come back that why the government has put the date 10th June 2020 is the last day that state government will gave this free transportation from Guwahati.
