Guwahati, Feb 21: Guwahati Food Awards initiated in the year 2015 steps into its fifth edition this year. With 136 nominations and 68 participants, the most happening and awaited event of the year aims to bring together the best in the food fraternity and recognizing top performers who have set benchmarks in the city’s Food & Beverage segment.
Online voting for this edition of Food Awards has already begun from 15th February and shall end on 5th March’2019. Almost 20,000 votes have already been received in the first five days and others are being encouraged to vote for their favourite players via the Guwahati Food Awards’ website (www.guwahatiplus.com/gfa) or by downloading the G Plus App.
The participants will be assessed on parameters such as food, hygiene, ambience, service, key specialities and their USPs by renowned culinary experts of the jury panel who would execute rigorous vetting to confirm if the participants meet Guwahati Food Awards’ standards.
“It’s overwhelming how people have responded to Guwahati Food Awards through its 4 seasons. We expect the same enthusiasm from them this year to show their appreciation by voting for the ones that have impressed them the most”, said Mr. Sunit Jain, Director & Publisher, G Plus.
The winner would be declared in the gala awards ceremony scheduled on 23rd March’2019 at Hotel Vivanta by Taj. This one-of-a-kind award provides a unique platform to both established players and emerging ones to make their presence felt within the industry and nominate themselves within the different categories in the sector.
With over 25 categories, the award will cater to the entire spectrum of the eating out space and the 5th edition of the G Plus Guwahati Food Awards 2019 promises to be an even bigger and more engaging event this time around with over 500 food joints in the city. “Given the success of the last four years, we at GFA believe that the F&B landscape is fast evolving in the city and hence would like to encourage even higher standards for the awards this year. The 5th season would definitely triple the excitement of all involved”, added Mr Jain.
Guwahati Food Awards is an initiative of the city’s English weekly – G Plus in association with Blender’s Pride Reserve Collection Music CDs. The initiative is supported by Go Cheese, Asomiya Pratidin, Pratidin Time with Hospitality Partner – Vivanta Guwahati.
