Shillong, March 19: The Border Security Force once again organized a Multi Specialty Medical Camp in historic village of Dhanakgre in South Garo Hills Distt on 18th Mar’2018. The border guards living to its expectation of winning the hearts of the local populace by organizing such public outreach programmes to provide medical assistance to the people in areas near International Boundary .
A free multi specialty medical camp and health checkup programme was organized to facilitate medical aid to dwelling people of Dhanakgre/Tura area under supervision of Dr.A. C. Bhardwajan,DIG(Med) with assistance of seven more specialist doctors of BSF Composite Hospital(Shillong) at Dhanakgre. During the camp, doctors carried out checkup/tests for Eye, Blood sugar, Hepatitis ‘B’, Hemoglobin, Malaria & Blood Group and provided medicines to needy patients who were more than hundred in number from Dhanakgre/Tura area. 25 Nos eye spectacles were also distributed after eye checkup.
The response of the general population of the area was very positive and they were happy and thankful to BSF Medical team for extending the free medical services at their door steps. It is worth mentioning that BSF has recently organized a series of such medical camps at bordering areas to help needy persons who can’t access Shillong frequently including similar medical camp at Mahenderganj and Killapara on 17th March’18(Saturday). The headman of the area also expressed special thanks and gratitude to the BSF for such omen work and requested to make it on regular intervals.
