The Cabinet approved to increased the age limit to apply for teachers job to 37 years: Lahkmen

Shillong, Sept 07:  The Cabinet today had approved the age limit to apply for teacher’s job to 37 years; this will be applicable to all categories of teachers from primary level up to college level.

Speaking to media after the cabinet meeting education minister Mr Lahkmen Rymbui said that, the reason for taking this decision is that, to be a teacher it needs extra criteria apart from their  educational qualification, to tech in school and college candidates has to process extra qualification.

Many educated youth who has the call to be a teachers look for others job since the earlier age limit to apply for teacher job is 32, fearing of the age limit many educated youth decided not pursue to get additional qualification in teaching job.

The intention of the government to increased the age limit  to apply for teachers job is that educated youth who want to take up this profession as etcher they could continued with study in this profession so that after they complete their  study could apply for teacher job.

The Cabinet also today approved for the appointment of teachers under 3F  for Tura Government college and Williamnagar Goverment College, 13 teachers in Tura Government College and three in Williamnagar Government College.
