Shillong, July 24: Today morning as the special force-10 are on their duty at Chambildam village in East Garo Hills under Rongjeng Police station suspected GNLA militant open fire, where the police retaliated, in this encounter no casualty from either side.
The suspected GNLA militant are arounf 6 to 7 in numbers. During the encounter the militant managed to sink into the nearby jungle. The combing operation in the area is on to nap the militant who fled during the encounter.
From the place of the occurrence, the police have recovered one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and 26 lives ammunition. The area have been cordoned to make sure that the militant will be apprehended.
