Shillong, June 15: At the international level, illegal exchange of drugs has become a subject of concern. The BSF play a major role in curbing this issue by seizing drugs at border area in the form of Yaba, Hemp, Heroine etc.
Besides maintaining high degree of alertness on the International Border to maintain National security, BSF contribute towards eradicating such social menaces.
In view of upcoming International day against Drug Abuse, BSF Meghalaya on 15th June’ 2022, organized a drug free awareness campaign at BSF camp Tura, as well as at BSF Border Out Posts.
During the awareness programme rallies with placard have been organized to educate and sensitize local youth regarding repercussions of drugs and motivated them to stay away from this menace.
Participants were aware by delivering lectures on the subject. BSF Officers, Jawans and local civilian people also participated in this awareness programme.
