Shillong, May 18: Meghalaya Power Minister Mr James K Sangma, said that the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) will encourage people to used prepaid meter and smart meter to reduce energy loses.
Recently Power minister told the media in his office chamber, said that the MeECL will encourage people to use pre-paid meter and smart meter to reduce energy loses. From the power department will encourage this system, said Mr Sangma.
On the thermal power plan in the state of Meghalaya, at present this is not feasible since there is band on coal mining in the state, the idea of having thermal power in Meghalaya at this juncture is not viable.
