The Railway Protection Force apprehend 6 suspected thieves, rescues 13 children

Maligaon, Dec 02: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel of N.F. Railway cracked several cases of theft of passenger’s belongings and apprehended 6 persons involved in those theft with recovery of stolen articles from their possession during November 18 to 21, 2019.

A team of RPF of the Katihar conducted checking at Katihar Railway Station on November 18, 2019 against anti-social elements and apprehended two persons and recovered six stolen mobile phones from their possession. They were handed over to Government Railway Police of Katihar for further prosecution.

On November 19, 2019, RPF team of Guwahati, while escorting the Train No. 15669 UP Nagaland Express from Guwahati to Lumding, apprehended two persons and recovered 2 cameras, 9 mobile phones, 5 SIM cards and a wallet from their possession.

In another case on November 20, 2019, RPF personnel along with CIB and CPDS team of Guwahati conducted checking at Guwahati Railway Station and apprehended one person with recovery of a stolen mobile phone.

Again on November 21, 2019, one person was apprehended and two stolen mobile phones were recovered from his possession. These apprehended people were later handed over to Government Railway Police at Guwahati.

RPF of NFR also rescued as many as 13 minor children during the period from 18th to 24th November, 2019 from different stations and trains and handed over them to their respective guardians or NGOs.

Moreover, 2 touts were apprehended during drives conducted against touting activities at Alipurduar and Sorbhog on 23rd November, 2019.
