The two day Air Fest 2018, is underway in the EAC landing ground upper Shillong

Shillong, Oct 06: As part of 86th Air Force Day celebrations, “Headquarters Eastern Air Command” at Upper Shillong organised an Air Force Festival ‘AIR FEST 2018” – from 06 to 07 October 2018.  The festival was inaugurated at the Shillong Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) by Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal R Nambiar AVSM VM & Bar.

The Air Fest 2018 kicked off with a fly past of Mi-17 Helicopters and Su-30 MKI multi-role fighter aircraft.  There was also a demonstration of slithering operations by ‘Garud’, the elite commandos of the Indian Air Force.  Static Display of Aircraft and performance by the Military band are some other highlights of the festival.

IAF has set up various stalls which include IAF publicity stall, souvenir stall and delectable food stalls.  Various adventure activities such as zorbing ball, rappelling & crawling were also offered.  A large number of people especially students from various schools and colleges witnessed the festival and acquired information regarding career opportunities in the IAF.
