To create awareness on equity markets NSE organized seminars in Shillong

Shillong, May 2: With the aim to spread awareness about the equity markets and to increase the financial education in the Northeast India’s leading stock exchange, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) organized awareness seminar today at hotel Polo Towers, Polo.

NSE’s Managing Director & CEO Chitra Rankrishna informed that the main aim in organizing the seminar is to educate investors about the rights and obligations on precautions ought to take trading and on investment opportunities available for investors who wish to trade in the market.

Speaking to the news persons, Chitra Ramkrishna said, “We felt that northeastern states, particularly Meghalaya for we should focus our efforts and that are what brings us here.”

Ramkrishna further said, “For any market to develop on strong lines one need a strategy that is inclusive and when we talk of financial inclusion is about how to spread about financial literacy and financial education at different levels of schools, colleges, and to the first time earners as education is at the heart of any saver to take an informed decision.”

“The stronger markets are those that people are aware so all our efforts of last 10- 12 years have really been about how to increase the awareness. And there is the same kind of efforts that we want to take in this same region also to develop the quality of the companies,” stated Ramkrishna.

Ramkrishna concluded saying “If we can get a good ground level sets of how many companies are looking to go national and once we understand that we will definitely facilitate them,” adding, “Entrepreneur should have the desire to really grow and invite capital and once the entrepreneur is able to chose the right option it will give one the ability to raise capital growth and give visibility for the company to become attractive.”(SP News)
