Shillong, December 25: The United Democratic Party is facing un internal rebellion from among the top leader with is senior most leader Mr SD Khongwir openly declaring himself that he is not to support the official candidate of the party From Mawlai Constituency.
Mr Khongwir is the founder member of the United Democratic Party (UDP) when the regional party wants to have a common party to fight against the Congress in 1998. The UDP was form with the fraction of HSPDP, PDIC and the HPU.
In the election 2008 Mr Khongwir dit not support the party Candidate. Though he did not openly canvas fro the Congress Candidate who is the sitting MLA from Mawlai Mr FS Cajee but party works know that he did not support Mr PT sawkmie.
Rumors has spread that Mr Khongwir is just a matter of time to join the Congress Party the leaders of the UDP like the working president Mr Paul Lyngdoh has question the attitude of Mr Khongwir he even said that he got the post of Chairmanship base on the recommendation of the party UDP.(SP News)
