Shillong, January 16: A voluntary blood donation camp was organised by Military Hospital Shillong in collaboration with Blood Bank NEIGRIHMS, to commemorate Army day 2017, here on Monday.Lieutenant General DS Ahuja General Officer Commanding 101 Area inaugurated the blood donation camp.
Voluntary, unpaid blood donation is the act of giving life, the greatest gift any person can give or receive. On these lines, nearly 35 Army personnel donated blood for this noble cause. Through this camp Army rededicated the commitment towards the furtherance of the humanitarian cause in this region which has a scarcity of non-remunerated blood donations.
This blood donation by the Army personnel will go a long way in saving precious lives of the people of Meghalaya.
