AAP Meghalaya will be filing a PIL against the increase of power charges

Shillong, March 06: The Amm Admi Party (AAP) Meghalaya will be filing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against the arbitrary increase of power charges by Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL).

The party will also seek clarification on how such increase was made possible when the Corporation’s plea to increase the power tariff was struck down by the Meghalaya State Electricity Regulatory Commission (MSERC) during the Public Meeting on February 25, 2014.

Also, the Party shall be demanding for bringing back and creating the PIL cell under Meghalaya High Court in Shillong. Said Mr Anthony Lyngdoh Secretary of the party Meghalaya State Unit.(SP News)
