All Political parties from NE Region decided to meet the President of India on the CAB, 2016

Shillong, jan 29: The resolution adopted by the Political parties of North Eastern Region in the meeting held today in Guwahati have decided in few days they will meet the President and the Prime Minister of India to voice their opposition to the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

All the political parties of the North Eastern Region have come together to jointly opposed the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.In the meeting they have unanimously decided to go to Delhi     to go and meet the President and the Prime Minister of India to apprise them on their opposition to the Bill.

In the unfortunate scenario, if the Government of India failing to respond to the call of the people and pressed ahead with the Bill, the meeting has decided they will meet again to chalk out the future course of action and the way forwards.

The meeting also thanks all political parties from across the country, which has objected the Bill, and has supported the cause inside and outside parliament. The meeting  also decided to form the committee to reach out to all political parties to seek their support for this cause.

From Meghalaya Political parties who participate in the meeting are, the NPP led by the National President Mr Conrad K Sangma who is the president, and the UDP led by the president Dr Donkupar Roy who is also the speaker of the Meghalaya Legislaitive Assembly.
