Shillong, May 22: The newly elected MP from 2.Tura Parliamentary Constituency Mr Conrad K Sangma today through his Face book thank the electorate of Tura Parliamentary Constituency which they have given a resounding mandate – a mandate which echoed beyond the hills and valleys, rivers and streams of our beloved Garo Hills.
In ha humble way Mr Sangma said that “This victory, however, is not mine alone. It is the victory of the people of Garo Hills, a victory of our time-tested democratic values, and a victory of optimism over pessimism: he daid.
He further said that Election campaigns, however, do not come down to a single person. Victories are won on the backs of many, after several days and hours of continuous work. “I thank God for having been the source of guidance and inspiration. The Almighty will always continue to be my strength and guide in the days to come, as I begin my journey of serving the people”.
He said that his which has always stood by him in good and bad times, has been the bedrock of support. he thank all my family members and relatives who have supported him all through. Without them, he will not been able to be where he is today, he said.
In his face book he also mention that he is also grateful to all his party workers – National People’s Party – and its leaders and functionaries for their selfless service and sacrifice. Their profuse support and guidance enabled him to take on the electoral challenges with courage and determination.
He also mention that his gratitude to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), United Democratic Party (UDP), Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP), Garo National Council (GNC), Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) and their leaders and workers for their benevolent support. Their blessings and hard work provided me the much-needed positivity to make the election campaign a success.
I am especially grateful to our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, BJP national president Shri Amit Shah, Union tribal affairs minister Shri Jual Oram, BJP national spokesperson and in-charge of the Meghalaya BJP unit, Shri Nalin Kohli, BJP Meghalaya president Shri Shibun Lyngdoh and the other leaders and party workers for their unstinted support. Shri Oram and Shri Kohli had personally travelled all the way from New Delhi to campaign for me in this election, for which, I will always be grateful.
At the same time, His thank gose to all the election officials for conducting the elections in a free and fair manner. He also congratulate Smti. Dikkanchi D. Shira, INC candidate and sitting legislator of Mahendraganj constituency, and her entire campaign team. After a hard fought battle, I solicit her cooperation and support in taking our Garo Hills to newer heights of development and prosperity.
As I enter the portals of Parliament – the temple of our democracy – I plead for your blessings and prayers.
