Betasing, June 16: The BDO Connect programme, a grassroots outreach initiative under the CM Connect governance framework, was successfully conducted at Betasing C&RD Block on Tuesday. The programme was organised by the Block Development Officer (BDO), Smt. C. R. N. Sangma, with the participation of representatives from various line departments.
The initiative aimed to provide a direct platform for villagers to voice their concerns, grievances and developmental needs before government officials.
Residents from different villages attended the programme in significant numbers and raised issues relating to public services, welfare schemes, infrastructure development and other community matters.
Officials from the participating departments received and registered complaints and requests submitted by the villagers. Several issues were addressed and clarified on the spot, while matters requiring further examination were documented for necessary follow-up action.
Speaking on the occasion, the BDO assured the public that all concerns raised during the programme would be forwarded to the appropriate authorities and pursued through the administrative system until they are resolved.
A consolidated report of the grievances and requests received will be prepared by the Block office and shared with the concerned departments for timely action.
The BDO Connect programme forms part of the government’s continuing efforts to strengthen grassroots governance, improve grievance redressal mechanisms and ensure the effective delivery of welfare schemes and public services to beneficiaries.
Villagers were encouraged to remain in contact with the Block office regarding the status of their applications and grievances. Similar outreach programmes are expected to be organised in the future to further enhance citizen engagement and responsive governance at the grassroots level.
