Ampati, June 3: The Office of the Block Development Officer, Zikzak C&RD Block, organized BDO Connect on Wednesday at the Zikzak Block premises under the theme “Building Stronger Connections, Delivering Better Governance..
The programme brought together government officials, village representatives, community leaders, and residents to promote direct engagement between citizens and government departments.
The initiative was aimed at strengthening public service delivery, fostering transparency and accountability, and providing a platform for addressing issues and concerns raised by local communities.
Various government departments participated in the programme and interacted directly with villagers on matters related to development, welfare schemes, infrastructure, education, healthcare, livelihoods, and other public services.
During the programme, residents from different villages shared their concerns and highlighted development needs affecting their communities.
Various pertinent issues were raised, notable among them being the availability of electricity and potable water supply in several localities.
Representatives of the concerned departments examined these issues and addressed many of them on the spot through clarifications, immediate interventions, and coordination with field officials.
For matters that could not be resolved immediately, the concerned departments assured participants that appropriate action would be taken within a stipulated timeframe. Officials also provided details on the procedures being undertaken to ensure timely follow-up and resolution of pending issues.
The programme served as an opportunity to disseminate information on ongoing government schemes and services, encouraging greater public participation and awareness. Participants were informed about the benefits available under various programmes and the procedures for accessing them.
