Shillong, June 28: The BJP Meghalaya State Unit will approached Court if cement companies is not rolling back cement price in the state with thirty days from today, said Mr Bashai Khongwir General Secretary of the party.
Addressing media person in the party office, Mr Khongwir said that , it was shock to see that within a month the price of cement in Meghalaya has increased from Rs.280 per bag to Rs.400 per bag. The increased in price is more than 35% in one go where they cannot accept.
The General Secretary of the BJP, alleged this increased in price happen only in connivance between the cement companies and the government rulling in the state, the Congress party. If Cement Company is not rolling back the cement price they will approached the court.
The people of the state is aware that the raw material, like coal, lime stone the price has drop down, but how come the cement in the state has shoot up in an abnormal way, the BJP smell that the money looted from the public will be used for the upcoming election in the state, said Mr Khongwir.
The NDA Government at the centre has suspend the subsidy after the central government felt that something fishy in the subsidy disbursement, the BJP alleged that thousand of course has been wasted from public money in subsidy payment to the eight cement company located in Jiantia Hills District.
The BJP has mane the cement company who has increased their cement, are Star Cement, Topcem Cement, Dalmia Cement, Hills Cement, Best Cement, Amrit Cement, Gold Stone Cement and Maxx Cement.
The Government has band export of lime stone by the local people but they have allowed companies to export lime stone. The BJP claim that this cement companies they cannot take the people of the state for a ride without the consent from the state government.
