Shillong, May 03: The relevance of military history in the context of a war that purportedly wasn’t as researched and written – by military historian and acclaimed author, Shri Shiv Kunal Verma, in his latest book ‘1962 – The War That Wasn’t’ was expounded by the author himself at a presentation made to air warriors and their families at Headquarters Eastern Air Command, Upper Shillong on Monday.
The talk threw light on various aspects that played a significant role in the days leading to the war, and of the ignominy that followed at all levels. The presentation was informative and educative for the air warriors in the light of the fact that many facets of the war still remain classified till date.
Air Marshal C Hari Kumar, Air Officer-Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command, IAF felicitated Mr. Verma and presented him a memento.
