Shillong, July 24: BSF troops deployed in South Garo Hillsdistt of Meghalaya apprehended one Bangladeshi liquor smuggler on international border while he was trying to smuggle liquors from area of BOP Jatrakona, Ex- 36 BnBSF. The apprehended person was identified as MdRamjan (22 yrs) S/O Mohruddin R/O Vill-Maijagasi, PO- Thantor, Ps- Nalitbari, Distt- Sherpur (Bangladesh). During search, 61 Bottles of Liquor worth Rs. 13,250/-, 01 Mobile with 01 BangladeshiSIM worth Rs. 4,000/- and BD Taka 12/- was recovered from his possession.
During last week, BSF troops on Meghalaya border seized one Motorcycle, 333 Cft wooden log, 130 BtlsPhensedyle, 379Btls Liquor and other contraband items worth over Rs. 13Lacs while being smuggled out from India to Bangladesh.
Apprehended person and seized items have been handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.(SP News)
