Career Exhibition-cum-Conference held at Monfort Secondary School, Resubelpara

Shillong, June 10: With a need to provide career information to the students and to make them aware of the various professions, vocational trainings, etc, a Career Exhibition cum Conference for the students of Senior Secondary and Secondary School was organized by the Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT), Shillong at Monfort Secondary School, Resubelpara on June 10, 2016. The programme was attended by as many as ten schools of the area.

Speaking as the Chief Guest, Shri S.C.Sadhu, Deputy Commissioner, North Garo Hills District, said that there are immense potential in the students of the region which need to be directed in the right direction and accounted the parents and teachers to guide their wards. Shri. Sadhu stressed particularly on the students and urged them to explore and discover their talents by shelling out of their comfort zone. He said this, while encouraging the students to accept every opportunity of going outside where different academic courses are designed in such a way in order to meet the challenges of the modern generation.

Further, the DC requested the Education Department to collaborate with the District Administration in organizing such valuable productive programmes in the near future for the benefit and brighter career of the students.

Smt S. Ch. Marak. Lecturer and Programme Coordinator, DERT, Shillong said that this programme is aimed at providing information to the students from the primary level to the higher school level of education whereby helping them to identify their potentials and gear themselves towards their own interest.

The resource persons who fructify the programme by speaking on many professional choices were Smt S. N.Sangma, Lecturer, DIET, Shri Surojit Hajong, Treasury Officer, Resubelpara, Smt (Dr) Y. Sangma, and Smt B.D.Shira, IPO, DCIC, Tura.
