Shillong, October 27: The Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma will hand over the skill development certificate to 433 surrender militant’s cadres to be held at the valedictory programme to be held in Tura on the 29th of this month. This is one of the process in rehabilitating militant groups who have come to join the main stream.
After the high profile militant surrenders and two disbanding programmes which is about 433 in numbers of former militants of different organizations and groups have booked a date with history With the completion of their one-of-its-kind-in-the-country rehabilitation programme they are all set to step out into the world with a brand new hope and new promise of livelihood and a better life receiving course completion certificates from none other than the Chief Minister of Meghalaya Dr Mukul Sangma as they graduate from their skill development training .
The much talked about rehabilitation programme of surrendered and disbanded militants is completing with spiritual counselling , psychological counselling and interest based skill development training for disbanded cadres of UALA , ANVC and surrendered cadres of GNLA , ASAK , AMEF and LAEF after profiling of their choices .
The three venues of rehabilitation where training was imparted were Baljek airport for the UALA , ASAK , AMEF and LAEF , 2nd Battalion , Goeragre for surrendered GNLA cadres and SMELC Dakopgre , Tura for ANVC cadres . It is reported in the three venues for the skill development training that cadres have shown a strong inclination for modules of agriculture, horticulture, piggery and poultry.
As per reports from the IBDLP team and line departments imparting the training the total number of cadres who have undergone or undergoing training are, GNLA – 53, UALA – 50, ASAK – 4, LAEF – 4,ANVC – 169 first batch and 153 in the second batch, all together are 433 members of various groups will received their certificate on the same day.
As such the total number of cadres having received skill development training is 433 and these many are expected to attend the valedictory programme and receive the certificates in groups for the skill development modules. As per instructions issued by higher authorities of the state the training for UALA , GNLA cadres have been more in depth and for ANVC it has been condensed .
Spiritual counselling by pastors and psychological counselling has been done for all. Skill profiling and orientation has preceded all training.
The skill profiling has been done by trained IBDLP team and skill module training has been conducted by line department teams .The programme shall also take the opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of the psychological counsellors and spiritual counsellors and the Commandant of 2nd MLP Goeragre who have gone the extra mile to make the training programme a success . The role played by the concerned line departments shall also be acknowledged and certificates of appreciation would be given to all.
After the programme which is designed as a certificate distribution and motivational programme along with a warm send off -the surrendered or disbanded cadres will be free to embark on a life and livelihood choice of their own .
