Shillong, Jan 25: The Election Commission of India has alloted Broadcast and Telecast time to political parties in the General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya 2013.
For this, the Commission has extended the said scheme of equitable time sharing on electronic media through Prasar bharati Corporation. In addition to the broadcast of political parties, the Prasar Bharati Corporation will organise a maximum of two panel discussions and or debates on the Kendra or Station of Doordarshan and All India radio.
It was also informed that each elegible party can nominate one representative to such a programme.
However, it is also being informed that there will be no telecast or broadcast during the 48 hours preceding the close of polls as per specific provisions of teh representation of People Act, 1951.
It was also added that for the State Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya, BSP will get a total time of 45 minutes of braodcast with 9 time vouchers (5 minutes each), BJP 58 minutes with 11 time vouchers (5 minutes each) plus 1 (3 minute0, CPI 45 minutes with 9 time vouchers (5 minutes each), CPI (M) 45 minutes with 9 vouchers (5 minutes each), INC 203 minutes with 40 time vouchers (5 minutes each) added 1 (3 minute), NCP 145 minutes with 29 time vouchers (5 minutes each), UDP 134 minutes with 26 time vouchers (5 minutes each) added 1 (3 minutes), NCP 145 minutes with 29 time vouchers (5 minutes each) UDP 134 minutes with 26 time vouchers (5 minutes each) plus 1 (4 minutes) and HSPDP 45 minutes with 9 time vouchers (5 minutes each).(SP News)
