Four traders abducted by suspected militant at gunpoint in Garo Hills

Tura, June 25: Four persons were abducted at gunpoint today from a
village in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills.

The four traders from Phulbari town were on their way to Kantanagre
village under Dadenggre sub-division, about 40 km from Tura.
The incident took place at 7 am.

They have been identified as Gulu, Shah Alam, Azgar Ali and Atwar
Ali, all from Kaimbathapara village under Phulbari police station.
Police suspect it to be the handiwork of militants.

Police say that they were stopped by armed miscreants near Kantanagre
village and taken towards Dipogre, which is near Damal Asim village.
Police have launched a combing operation in the area to rescue the traders.(SP News)
