Shillong June 19: The government of Meghalaya has revise the rate maximum wages of worker with effect from 1st june of this month the maximum rate per day for unskill workers is rs 160 , rs 170 for semi skill workers , rs 180 workers and 200 for high skill workers .
The wages has been revise inrespect of employment in agriculture , construction and maintenance of building including public health Engineering , stone crushing and breaking opration , construction of generation and generation of power, water supply land development excavation nad reclaimation , sericulture and weaving , fruit conservation , soil conservation animal husbandary and vatenery , forest, local authority , public motor transport, saw mill, plywood establishment , printing press, sale distribution and handing of petroleum product, steel fabrication and concrete product including brick making, tailoring wax nad candle industry, hotel and restaurant,. Mines and minerals safai karamcharis, employment in registred factories not elsewhere classified employment under government authority and domestic workers.
These rate of maximum wages shall be revised at interval of six month based on consumer price index linked variable dearness allowance , the rate of which shall be notified separately from time to time.(SP News)
