Shillong, June 11: The Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma in his reply to the question put forth by Mr Paul Lyngdoh of the UDP, said that 615 street light in the capital Shillong are defective.
The government has taken step by implementing the project “ Green Shillong City Project” which light the street light will be done by solar energy. In the first stage 300 points will install for Shillong City and 78 point will be for Tura.
The government is well aware about the poor street light in the Capital. With the implementation of the solar light it will also bring down the electricity consumptions and in turn it wills give to the consumer.
Health Minister Mr AL Hek in his reply to another question asked by Paul Lyngdoh on the Entrance Test for MBBS the minister said that this is the direction that comes from the central government which the state has to follow.
In supplementary Mr Lyngdoh want to know who the members of the Committee are, Health Minister in his answer said that the Principal Secretary of the Health Department is the Chairman of the Committee which include from the Education, HEHU and NEIGHRIMS.
On the question of having the neutral committee which will not include official from the state government, the Minister said that all step will be taken to ensure that the test is free and fair.(SP News)
