Shillong, June 18: In connection with the alleged witchcraft at Mawjrong Village on 17th June 2014, 11 (eleven) persons were arrested, Shri Stevenson Myrthong (21 yrs), Shri Eshaising Kurkalang (28 yrs), Shri Tiewkordor Nongkynrih (55 yrs), Shri Silbok Kharkongor (25 yrs), Shri Kitbor Sing Synrem (24 yrs), Shri Brom Kharkongor (55 yrs), Shri Shor Myrthong (60 yrs), Shri Flystar Synrem (40 yrs), Shri Pliwel Synrem (28 yrs), Shri Comingbud Nongrum (31 yrs) all of Mawmyrsiang Village, Elaka Laitkroh, only Shri Rasting Sohtun (30 yrs) of Nongkynrih Laitlyngkot. Permanent address Khatarmer, Mylliem.
The arrested persons are in 2(two) days Police custody. Further more arrest in this connection is expected to be made. The victim has been identified as Shri Larningstar Kharbani (28 yrs) of Umkrem, Mairang, West Khasi Hills.(SP News)
