KSU refute governor claims that “Influx from B’desh into Meghalaya notpossible”

Shillong, December 05: The Khasi Student’s Union refute the claims made by the Governor V. Shanmuganathan  that  appear in section of the media in his speech in the condolence meet of the death of senior RSS leader K Suryanarayana Raoin Chennai, Tamil Nadu claimed that there is no influx of Bangladeshis into the state of Meghalaya.

The Union wish to highlight and enlightened the Honourable Governor that the problem of influx is a reality and common phenomena in the state of Meghalaya which shares a porous international border of 424 km with Bangladesh and the shortage of Border Security Force (BSF) personnel guarding the porous border is not adequate to check the constant infiltration by Bangladeshi nationals into India through Meghalaya as claimed by the officials of the BSF.

To authenticate our claim the Union wish to enlightened the honourable Governor about the high profile arrest of Mr Salahuddin Ahmed who is a joint secretary general of Bangladesh national party (BNP) and also a former MP Representing Cox Bazar constituency in the Bangladesh parliament for illegally entering the country without proper documentation from the heart of the capital city of Meghalaya, Shillong on the 11th of May 2015 and his detention appeared in the Times of India national daily on the 13thMay 2015 .Now the question arises how did Mr Ahmed reached shillong without being detected by the various efficient central government agencies deputed to check the porous border the stateshares with Bangladesh. If this is not Influx from Bangladesh then what is?

The Union would also like to mention that Bangladeshis can also enter Meghalaya using Assam as a transit state thereby increasing the probability that the microscopic indigenous communities of Meghalaya to be overwhelmed by these foreigners.
