Mairang, Dec 16: “Let’s look ahead and not look back. Let’s learn from mistakes and try not to repeat them in future” said Shri Metbah Lyngdoh, Speaker, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly and Local MLA Mairang Constituency, while referring to the delay of 13 years or so of the opening of the Laitdom Primary Health Centre.
The Laitdom Primary Health Centre under Mairang Block was finally inaugurated today by Shri M Lyngdoh as Chief Guest in the presence of Shri AL Hek, Minister, Health& Family Welfare as guest of honour.
While addressing the gathering Shri M Lyngdoh further said “I believe that the doctors who will be appointed in this PHC will do their duty to the best of their abilities. I believe they will give selfless service to you the people of this area without thinking of any personal gains but to leave a legacy of what they have done to serve you”.
He said that the PHC has just been opened and that it will have its limitations here and there hence urged upon the people of the area to inform the authorities of any faults that they may find and the authorities will try their best to resolve the issues.
Shri M Lyngdoh also called upon the gathering to applaud the people who have willingly donated their land of approximately One and a Half Acre in area for the purpose of building the PHC while also felicitating them.
Health & Family Welfare Minister, Shri AL Hek in his address urged upon the doctors who are posted in the Laitdom PHC to be present as required to serve the residents of the area while also calling for cooperation from the local populace to cooperate to make the PHC a success.
He pressed on the fact that vaccinations and immunizations are important and with the PHC in the area the people should take full advantage of it.
Organized by the Office of the District Medical & Health Officer, West Khasi Hills, Nongstoin, the program was chaired by Dr A Warr, DHS (MI), Meghalaya Shillong and the welcome address was given by Dr (Mrs) M Bareh, DM&HO, West Khasi Hills.
Others who spoke were Shri M Shylla, EE Health Engg Wing, Meghalaya, Shillong, Shri V Swer, BDO Mairang C&RD Block, Sordar of Laitdom Village Shri H Lawriniang and Shri PM Syiem, Syiem Hima Nongkhlaw. Dr. (Ms) LL Mylliemumlong, Medical Superintendent, Tirot Sing Memorial Hospital, Mairang gave the vote of thanks.
It maybe mentioned that the Laitdom Primary Health Centre, Mairang Blockwill cover three sub centres that includes Laitdom sub centre, Pyndengdombah sub centre and Mawsnar sub centre with a total population of 8556.
