District Shillong, May 06: Many houses were affected by the cyclone that hit the village bordering Bangladesh that falls under South Garo Hills District. The two C&RD Block that was affected are Rongra and Baghmara.
The Deputy Commissioner of South Garo Hills District Smti SN Marak told SP News Agency that, last night the storm has hit the District, where Rongra C&RD Block was affected and Baghmara C&RD Block also. Information received said that many houses were damaged, but she is not in position to tell until she received the official report from the officer.
Smti Marak said that the officer is on the job to conduct the inquiry, after she received the information she can only say that actual damage. The assistant Disaster management is on the job to supervise the rescue and relief work. So far no report of any casualty were reported in the cyclonic storm.
