Meghalaya Home Guards Officer Bags Gold in 3rd Meghalaya State Shooting Championship

Shillong, July 02: Shri Mawdaker Marwein, 2nd in Command of the Border Wing Home Guards Battalion today bag the Gold medal in the .22 rifle 50 meter open sight category of the 3rd Meghalaya State Shooting Championship which was held at ARC firing range at Happy Valley.

The 3rd edition of the Competition saw participants from Meghalaya Civil Defence and Home Guards, Meghalaya Police and civilians. The Directorate of Civil Defence and Home Guards had sent a team of two personnel to participate in one out of five categories that was available in the competition. Shri Marwein will be representing the state in the Zonal competition which will be held in Shillong on 15th July onwards.

This is the second time that a personnel from Meghalaya Civil Defence and Home Guards has achieved this feat in this State Level Competition. Last year, Shri Pynskhemlang Surong bagged the gold medal in the same category in last year’s edition of the competition. (PRO-CD&HG)
